MAD International are a UK charity based in Watchet who support needy children and families in the Philippines. Charity workers, Alan & Helen Wye, source original, hand-crafted jewellery and other handicrafts directly from skilled workers in the Philippines making sure they are paid a fair wage. The jewellery is then sold in the UK to raise funds that are sent back to the charity's workers in the Philippines where it is used to supply accommodation for those in need, purchase equipment for local schools and run a weekly feeding programme.

Extra funding to support communities in West Somerset to find work, training and development opportunities has been secured through the Our Place programme, which aims to bring residents, community and voluntary organisations together to focus on key concerns locally and transform the way related services are delivered. In Watchet & Williton the objective is to create a weekly Community Employment Hub in each community aimed at helping those who are looking for work to access all the services they need locally in order to find employment. Beginner's Art Group

Beginner's Art Group

A beginner's Art Group is running regularly in The Sanctuary. It is aimed and those with no previous skills or experience and our tutor, Trampas Brown, teaches the group a variety of basic techniques in a warm, friendly environment with plenty of encouragement! The beginner's group have just conducted their first exhibition with some stunning results!
